The popular Harmonix series Rock Band has seen a major decline over the past 5 years but it seems that the music title is looking at making a comeback. Rock Band 4 has been announced to release at some point in 2015 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It was also announced that all of the old tracks and DLC tracks will be supported upon release. As well, there is great potential that instruments used for the previous systems will work with the new Rock Band, which is great news for consumers who saved all their old gear. Compiling thousands of songs, Harmonix looks to add more of todays popular music with the upcoming release. As it has been in decline, executives are seeking to rejuvenate the declining series, with Harmonix CEO Steve Janiak stating:
“With Rock Band 4, we’re doubling down on the energy and excitement of playing music live with your friends…Focusing on the core experience that our fans have told us they love allows us to evolve established gameplay in meaningful ways that we can’t wait to share with everyone later this year.”
This is great news for those of us who can’t wait for another chance to play that crazy solo in “Sweet Child of Mine” by Guns N Roses while all of our friends cheer us on from the couch!
