No New Raid For the Destiny House of Wolves DLC

by on April 14, 2015

Destiny has been on the radar of many gamers since it dropped on September 9th of last year. With fun story lines, addicting leveling up schemes and exciting raid modes, Destiny took the gaming world by storm. As of late, the blockbuster title has lost its steam and millions of players have moved on to play other exciting games like Bloodborne or Battlefield: Hardline. In a move meant to get guardians back into space, Bungie announced the release date for their second expansion: House of Wolves. Set to be released on May 19th, it was thought to be coming out with a whole new set of missions, some new maps for multiplayer and a brand spanking new raid. However, Bungie released on their website that there will be no new raid for the Destiny House of Wolves DLC, stating:

House of Wolves will not have a raid activity. We didn’t make this decision lightly. Our team has been humbled by the reception of Raids in Destiny and we are creating a new Raid for a release later this year.

House of Wolves will have a new cooperative end game activity focused on variety, replayability, and skill – a new battle Arena called The Prison of Elders.

Many feel as if this a huge mistake on the part of Bungie and that people will begin to quit playing Destiny all together. Who knows what this new game type will hold but if it’s as much of a let down as the first expansion, Crota’s End, Bungie will have a tough time selling the future expansion titled Comet in the fall. House of Wolves is set to be an expansion that comes with a higher light level, more utilization of the Reef area and this newly released mode called The Prison of Elders, which they describe as a battle arena.
