So if you are like me, you have a serious gaming backlog. I mean, just to mention a few Just Cause 3, The Uncharted Collection, God of War 3, The Witcher 3, most of the Games with Gold/Playstation Plus Games, finish the last mission of Halo 5, finish the last few quests of Fallout 4. You get the picture, it’s a mess, and your’s probably is not any better. But what can you really do about it?
Here is what I am doing to personally cut down my own backlog.
#1: STOP BUYING GAMES.
Just stop, save the money, stop adding to the problem. Sure you just have to have the latest and greatest game, but what good is it if it ends up sitting there? I personally put off The Witcher 3 until just recently and got a great deal on it off Amazon, simply by waiting a while to get it. Did it kill me? No. In fact, I managed to knock a replay of Deadpool on the Xbox One out of the way. Check one game off the list.
If you have a massive open world style game that you want to sink hours of time into, don’t start it if you only have a few minutes to play, grab a smaller story driven game in the mean time. It’ll make you happier and leave you with a sense of accomplishment instead of sitting there 2 hours in and you haven’t even gotten past the character creation before you have to go to work.
#3 Focus Fire, Adds Then Boss.
If you have a list of smaller games(IE: Deadpool, Battlefront, Halo Story) try taking one or two of them out before hopping into a game like Skyrim, Fallout, Witcher, etc… Even better? What I attempt(and i use the term loosely) to do is not to get involved in two open world games at the same time. I find myself wandering around doing all the side quest maxing out everything, and not doing the story.
I hope these couple of tips might help you knock out your back log….But if it’s anything like mine……It probably is not going anywhere soon.
