Of course, this is a bad time for the service to go down, as many people are trying to play Mass Effect Andromeda for the first time today, as the game was officially released.

There is no timetable as to when the service will return to normal but there is no doubt that people are not happy with the status of the service currently as observed on Twitter:

Other users have threatened to switch to PlayStation if the issue isn’t resolved:

*sigh* Look, this sucks, but things go down sometimes. The threat of switching to PS4 if things don’t get fixed quick is total BS and I will call every single one of them out. Please, show me how wrong I am by taking hundreds of dollars in hardware and hundreds more in software, throw it in the trash, then go spend the exact same amount of money you just threw in the trashcan on PS4, it’s extra hardware, and the games. What will those folks do when PSN goes down? All networks experience outages, and for $5/month with as few outages as we get, it’s not that bad.

At least Microsoft isn’t joking around like HBO does when their service goes down during GoT season premier.
