When Ultra Street Fighter 2 came out it was met with mixed reviews for being a poor remastered game but still capturing enough of what makes Street Fighter fun.
With that being said, and the fighting genre becoming more and more popular with a variety of games battling for dominance, Ultra Street Fighter 2 has surprisingly battled for a piece of the pie as well.
According to the latest retail sales figures in the UK, this Nintendo Switch title had a much stronger debut than the most recent Marvel VS Capcom: Infinite which just released earlier this month.
The game debuted 12th on the UK physical retail chart. On the PlayStation 4 charts, it came in at 16th and didn’t even make the top 40 on Xbox One.
This is not only surprising but disappointing as Marvel VS Capcom: Infinite has been build up for months now, while Ultra Street Fighter 2 is merely a remaster.
Publisher Capcom has yet to comment on the UK figures, but this will no doubt have an impact on what they do next.
Marvel VS Capcom is a brawler which pits the two popular series against each other in one game and was launched on the PS4, Xbox One and PC. For more on Marvel VS Capcom and Ultra Street Fighter 2, keep it locked to Mammoth Gamers.
