A month after shutting down Visceral Games, the studio behind Battlefield Hardline, Dead Space, and an upcoming Star Wars title, Electronic Arts announced yesterday an agreement to acquire Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind the acclaimed Titanfall franchise.
The acquisition builds on a successful partnership between Respawn and EA, who has helped Respawn create both Titanfall and Titanfall 2. This partnership will lead to the development of multiple projects, including a new title in the Titanfall franchise, a game set in the Star Wars universe, and a VR gaming experience.
Under the agreement, EA is set to purchase the company for well over $151 million. Stay tuned to Mammoth Gamers for more on this breaking news story regarding this latest Electronic Arts acquisition.
