We’ve all known for a while that PUBG, arguably the most exciting game on the PC this year, is heading for the Xbox One. During Paris Games Week, we finally have a release date.
Developer Bluehole revealed that PUBG will come to early access for the console on December 12 with a price tag of $30. This means that Xbox One players will have access through the Xbox Game Preview program. Creative Director Brendan Greene said it’s “essentially a beta version.”
Bluehole VP and executive producer Chang Han Kim wrote on Xbox Wire, “We’re approaching development on Xbox One with the same community-driven focus that we’ve taken with the game on PC. As a result, the ultimate battle royale experience that fans play on Xbox One will be slightly different than what players know today on PC.”
Xbox One players will also have access exclusive content in the form of special cosmetic packs but because the game is in early access, it will be missing many features.
The developers have also confirmed that the PC version is still on track to leave steam early access this year and that the 1.0 PC version will have new maps, vaulting system and a new replay system.
Microsoft is publishing the Xbox One version, and it’s seems that Microsoft is trying also trying to extend the game’s exclusivity period on Xbox. For more on PUBG, keep it locked on Mammoth Gamers.
