EA Sports Announces New FIFA ESport

Today Major League Soccer (MLS) and EA Sports has become one of the biggest Esports stories ever after announcing the creation of eMLS, a new competitive league for EA SPORTS FIFA 18. The league will put MLS clubs, against each other to determine who will represent the League in the EA SPORTS FIFA 18 Global Series Playoffs on the Road to the FIFA eWorld Cup 2018.

Todd Sitrin, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Competitive Gaming Division at EA is hoping to “attract many more who view our competitions around the world.”

What we know so far is that 19 MLS clubs will participate in eMLS. These clubs include the Chicago Fire, Colorado Rapids, Columbus Crew SC, FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo, LA Galaxy, Minnesota United FC, Montreal Impact, New England Revolution, New York City FC, New York Red Bulls, Orlando City SC, Philadelphia Union, Portland Timbers, San Jose Earthquakes, Seattle Sounders FC, Sporting Kansas City, Toronto FC, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC. This long list of clubs will each decide their own process to select a player from its region to represent it in eMLS competitive play.

During the eMLS Cup, each club’s pro will play for a chance in the EA Sports FIFA17 Global series play off and eventually to be crowned the undisputed FIFA 18 World Champion at the FIFA eWorld Cup 2018 taking place in August later this year.

The eMLS Cup will begin at PAX East in Boston which takes place on April 5th through the 8th.
