Nintendo Labo Is The Switch’s New DIY Experience

After waiting for hours, Nintendo finally unveiled their new Switch accommodation, Nintendo Labo. Nintendo Labo is a unique DIY kit for the Nintendo Switch where kids and parents alike can make unique sets of Nintendo designed cardboard products for their Switch. There are two kits that Nintendo has announced in the Nintendo Labo lineup.

Nintendo states in their announcement,

“With each Nintendo Labo kit, kids can transform modular sheets of cardboard – specially designed to interact with the Nintendo Switch console and Joy-Con controllers – into creations called Toy-Con. From a piano to a motorbike, a robot and more, each Toy-Con comes to life when combined with Nintendo Switch in different ways. As you build, you will have fun discovering how the technology works, and might even invent new ways to play with each Toy-Con!”

The first in the Labo family is the Variety Kit, which retails at $69.99 and can be put to use in five different ways. The Labo can transform the Switch into a 13-key piano, a fishing rod simulator, a Toy-Con powered RC car, a Toy-Con house, and a Toy-Con motorbike. All these kits can be made and powered with the use of the Nintendo Switch console and the Joy-Cons.

The second in the Nintendo Labo lineup is the Robot Kit which retails at $79.99 and sounds like a lot of fun for both kids and adults. The Joy-Cons are used to control the arms and legs of the Robot which strap to a backpack the user wears.

Build a robot suit for your entertainment.

Both kits can be seen in action in the announcement video and at the official Nintendo Labo website.

Nintendo Labo is set to release on April 20, 2018.
