Sea of Thieves the new action-adventure pirate game came out with a few new announcements recently. For anyone that doesn’t know, Sea of Thieves is a shared world multiplayer game coming out for PC and Xbox One, developed by Rare Studios. Other real players will always be in your world where you can randomly come across them.
One of the biggest announcements made was that there will be microtransactions, but they will only be cosmetic. As of now they have said that there are animals you can buy that will not add anything to your game other than the fact you can have an animal. Rare also announced that there will be other cosmetic additions, but they have not shared any specific details as of yet. All of these cosmetics will be available in an online store so there will be no loot boxes.
Rare also announced that there will be an endgame, in which a kraken will roam across the oceans and strike at random times. Rare also shared the recommended specs needed to play the game on PC. Windows 10 is needed to run the game. To play the game at 1080p 60fps the recommended settings are an Intel i5 4690 @3.5ghz or an AMD FX-8150 @3.6ghz for CPU, 8GB of Ram, Directx 11, 4GB of VRAM. The GPU requires a GTX 770 or Radeon RX 470. Finally, for modern GPUs, a GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 470 and a 60gb 7.2k rpm HDD is recommended.
Sea of Thieves will be available on both PC and Xbox One on March 20th.
