Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wins Game of the Year at DICE Awards

During last night’s 21st annual DICE Awards in Las Vegas, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild won another Game of the Year award.

Not only that, but Nintendo’s open-world adventure was awarded Game of the Year, Adventure Game of the Year, and received awards for Outstanding Achievements in Game Direction and Game Design.

Throughout the 24 award categories, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was the most decorated game of the night. Nintendo’s own Genyo Takeda also received a lifetime achievement award for his creating Punch-Out!!, and for designing the Nintendo 64, Gamecube, and Wii hardware. By the end of the night, Nintendo took home a whopping 12 DICE awards.

Studio MDHR also had a night to remember with their indie run-and-gun game Cuphead picking up three awards in Outstanding Achievement in Animation, Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction, and Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition. Other notable winners include Horizon Zero Dawn, Lone Echo/Echo Arena, PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS and Snipperclips each earning two DICE awards.
