You heard right! Avengers: Infinity War will be releasing in theaters a week earlier than expected.
Yesterday, Disney and Marvel Studios announced that their next big release, Avengers: Infinity War, will be released on April 27th instead of the original release date of May 4th.
In a series of tweets between Marvel Studios and Robert Downey Jr. on Twitter, the official Marvel Studios Twitter revealed the new release date to Downey Jr’s request.
This is a good move on Marvel’s part as it gives more breathing room for the month of May with both Disney’s Solo: A Star Wars Story and 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool 2. Solo is set to release May 25th and Deadpool 2 is set to release May 18th.
Avengers: Infinity War is set to be the first of a two-part movie event that will conclude with Avengers 4 in 2019. Infinity War and Avengers 4 is also expected to conclude the third phase of Marvel Studios films.
To follow up on this announcement, Ryan Penagos, Marvel’s vice president and creative executive of New Media, posted a follow up tweet to the Marvel Studios announcement. Penagos took to Twitter directly after the announcement to post a gif from Men in Black, where Tommy Lee Johns is talking to Will Smith saying “Imagine what you’ll know tomorrow.”
Could it be a new trailer? Are we going to see some new additions to the Infinity War cast? Are we just going to get nothing all together and may be speculating over nothing? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. I was already happy to have this big movie release even earlier than expected. Now maybe a new trailer releasing today? That would be fantastic to say the least.
