The Sims 4 is no different from its prequels when it comes to having the greatest amount of downloadable content (DLC) possible for a game. An example of this being The Sims 3, having a grand total of 11 expansion packs and 9 stuff packs, and a whole online store of downloadable content. The Sims 4 currently has 4 expansion packs, 6 game packs, and 14 stuff packs. This amount of DLC clearly isn’t abnormal for a Sims game; however its latest stuff pack, My First Pet Stuff, is a Stuff pack for the expansion pack, Cats & Dogs. In order to get access to all the stuff from My First Pet Stuff, you have to own and have installed Cats & Dogs; meaning you’ll need to spend $40 to access all the $10 content, if you don’t already own Cats & Dogs. Needless to say, fans were less than excited about this.
At the time of this article, The Sims 4 is currently on sale on the Origin store; making it a great time for getting ahold of both the core game and some of its many packs. One of these sales is 60% off of a Sims 4 and Cats & Dogs bundle, as well as the other bundles and the expansion packs by themselves. My First Pet Stuff is the first DLC of its kind for the sims series in which the content is for another piece of DLC. There has been rumors of future DLC still to be released for The Sims 4; however fans seem to be keeping a close eye on EA. EA has a history of abusing the DLC model, and fans seem nervous that The Sims 4 is their next victim.
