The 7 Marvel Characters We’d Hate to See Die in Infinity War

The 7 Marvel Characters We’d Hate to See Die in Infinity War

Are you hyped for Avengers: Infinity War? (Hint: The only correct answer is “Yes!”) If you’re like me, you’ve probably been watching your favorite Marvel movies in preparation. Which got me thinking—someone is probably going to die in Infinity War, right? So which Marvel characters would I be most heartbroken to see kick the bucket? What are my favorite Marvel movies, superheroes, sidekicks, and more?

If you want my completely arbitrary opinion, keep reading to find out.

1. Bucky Barnes

Can this guy catch a break? He’s been beat up, brainwashed, and even had his arm ripped off—getting killed in Infinity War would just be the icing on the shit cake for him. I think Bucky has earned some R&R after all he’s been through, so I’d really like to see him survive further into the MCU. Plus, he’d be a totally viable candidate to take up the Captain America mantle if for some reason Steve Rogers doesn’t survive this next movie. Not that I’m totally predicting that or anything.

2. Black Widow

This character has so much potential and Marvel has done almost nothing with it. Fans have long been clamoring for a solo film (myself included!) and with rumors swirling about just that being in production, it would be a damn shame to kill off Natasha Romanoff before she really got a chance to shine. She’s also been one of the few female leads in the MCU, and while that alone doesn’t merit survival, it’d be nice to see her continue on into further films.

3. Drax the Destroyer

The entire cast of Guardians of the Galaxy has a knack for humor, but Drax’s situational awareness (or lack thereof) gives him some of the funnier lines in the MCU. While there are plenty of funny Marvel characters, I’d hate to see the group dynamic of the Guardians be shattered during Infinity War, especially since they already were dealt a close call with Groot in the first film. That being said, the fact that Drax wants to avenge his family against Thanos does make me worry for his chances….but we’ll just have to wait and see.

4. Bruce Banner

The Hulk/Bruce Banner is another set of Marvel characters that I hope get a happy ending and survive through Infinity War. It ain’t easy being green, and the fact that the Hulk is such an unstoppable force always makes me wonder if it would be easier to kill him off so the MCU writers wouldn’t have to deal with him anymore. That being said, I’d love it if he could just retire somewhere nice and get away from all the fighting. A topical beach, perhaps?

5. Vision

If I’m being honest with myself…the dude is probably going to die. He has an Infinity Stone in his freakin’ forehead. But I’m secretly hoping they find some way around that pesky little detail. Maybe Thanos will never get his hands on the Mind Stone? Maybe Stark, Banner, Shuri and other technological geniuses will think of a way to save him? Who knows! But I’d love to see him survive the events of Infinity War, and maybe even reconcile with Wanda during it.

6. Nakia, Okoye, Shuri, or literally anyone else from Wakanda

Speaking of female leads, I’m going to be hella pissed if any of the ladies from Black Panther are in danger of dying in the next film. Black Panther was extremely popular and profitable, not to mention it’s the newest series to be included in the MCU. These Marvel characters were great additions to the overall franchise, and their actresses did a phenomenal job bringing the characters to life on the silver screen.

7. Hawkeye

Let the guy retire already, he has a wife and kids for fuck’s sake.

Of course, there’s dozens of more Marvel characters I’d hate to see die in Infinity War, but these seven top my list. Come Thursday, I’m going to be on the edge of my seat watching this movie—and the Mammoth Gamers team will hear some choice words from me when I’m writing my Avengers review if they kill off any of my favorites.
