The Latest Red Dead Redemption 2 Trailer Is Here

The latest Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer, the third so far has been released today by publisher Rockstar Gamers, offers a deeper look at what players will be doing when they step into the boots of Arthur Morgan this fall. You can watch the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer above.

The original Red Dead Redemption was set in 1911, after the frontier had closed. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel taking place in 1899.

In the boots of Morgan, you will be tasked with robbing banks and collecting debt as the right hand man to Van Der Linde gang leader, Dutch Van der Linde. The biggest note in this new trailer, we get some shots of a younger John Marston, fresh from receiving his trademark scars. It was always likely that Marston would appear considering his connection to the Van Der Linde gang.

In terms of a wider story, a Rockstar press release has fleshed out the plot a little more:

America, 1899.

The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed.

After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.

After multiple delays, Red Dead Redemption 2’s release date is now scheduled for October 26th on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which would make its launch almost nine years after its predecessor debuted. Rockstar has yet to announce a PC version.
