On Twitter today, Rockstar Games announced when the first gameplay footage of Red Dead Redemption 2 will launch, and we don’t have to wait long because they’ll be showing it off tomorrow August 9th at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET.
The company hasn’t shown much of the game since the announcement back in October of 2016. So far, Rockstar has released three trailers. The first trailer focused on the setting, while the second and third trailer focused on the cast of characters.
In Red Dead Redemption 2, you play as Arthur Morgan, an outlaw and member of the Van der Linde gang. After a failed bank heist, the Van der Linde gang goes into hiding with the law close behind. The sequel to Red Dead Redemption is set before the events of the 2010 hit, in 1899. This period is considered the waning years of the American Old West. In addition to the single-player component, Rockstar has confirmed the game will have a multiplayer component as well.
Eager fans can pre-order Red Dead Redemption 2, and Rockstar has announced multiple special editions on their website. These include in-game content, such as a new horse and outfit, and physical items, such as a map. Fans can unlock a Stone Hatchet and Double-Action Revolver in Grand Theft Auto V’s online mode which can then be unlocked in Red Dead Redemption 2 when the game launches.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will launch on October 26th for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For more on the highly-anticipated sequel, keep it locked to Mammoth Gamers.
