New Kingdom Hearts III Trailer, Cover Art Revealed

During the Tokyo Game Show, Square Enix launched a new Kingdom Hearts III trailer. The company revealed the official box art for the upcoming title shortly after.

The new trailer, which you can watch below, gives fans a new in-depth look at San Fransokyo from the Disney film Big Hero 6. Sora is also shown riding Baymax during a combat section. The trailer shows how the Kingdom Hearts lore is going to be integrated into the world as well, such as Sora having a vision of Hayner, Pence, and Olette from Kingdom Hearts II.

Eagle-eyed fans will notice new Keyblade transformations as well as the addition of new mini-games, with one that tasks you racing through data circles. A photo mode looks to be in the game as well with Sora taking a selfie with a heartless.

After a few more story related scenes, new looks at levels from Pirates of the Caribbean, Tangled, and Frozen are revealed showing off new characters, combat, and story.

A scene in the trailer is reminiscent of the original announcement trailer from 2013, giving long-time fans a look at the progress from the past five years.

The trailer ends with another look at Master Xehanort’s long developing plan.

Square Enix also released new artwork from series creator Tetsuya Nomura, which has been confirmed as the box art to the long-awaited title. You can check out the artwork above.

In other Kingdom Hearts news, Square Enix also announced Kingdom Hearts VR Experience coming exclusively to PlayStation VR later this year.
