Top 5 Things We Want to See from Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most anticipated games to come out in the greater part of the decade.  Between the insane graphics and how much time that has gone into this game, expectations are sky high. I know that I personally spent over 100 hours on the Red Dead Redemption game for the Xbox 360, and even more when the Undead Nightmare expansion came out.  To say that I am excited, is an understatement. Even so, with high expectations come the wants and desires of the unknown. Here are some things that I would want to see from this brand new western adventure:

A Spooky Expansion

One of the most fun aspects of the last Red Dead game was the Undead Expansion that came out in the later part of its life.  It completely shifted the landscape of the game, added zombies and spooky horses and made a great game even better.  I would love to see something like Vampires or Werewolves in this game as a full game expansion, just like the undead version before.  If Rockstar is up to it, my body is ready.

Online Poker Games

I enjoy playing poker, a lot.  It has always been a pastime of mine and when it was a side game in the old Red Dead, I was pumped.  Something I would like to see is an online aspect of this where the player could create their own avatar and play for hours.  I know it is a lot to ask for but I feel like having something like that to have a side track from the main story line would be fun.  Poker is a staple of the wild wild west, and it would be great to put your money you earn on the line.

Heists, a lot of Heists

Heists are a ton of fun.  The thrill of the action, the reward of the loot, the danger that comes with taking something that doesn’t belong to you is what Red Dead should be all about.  I would love to see side quests that allow for people to join up with others online and plan to rob a bank.  I know that there will be an online Red Dead component but we are not exactly sure what it will have.  GTA sets the bar pretty high but, I feel like Red Dead will allow for a ton of freedom and ability to do things with friends.  Heists are on the top of my list as to things.

No Stupid Horse Races

This desire is not incredibly important to me but god, I hate missions that require me to race someone.  They are a waste of time and should not be required to advance a story.  Ever.  Red Dead should be no exception, as horses are not a great medium of transport.  I can relate this back to all the terrible Zelda horse races or even in the old Red Dead games.  I do not want horse races.  At all.  And if the devs have put all this time into the horses *ahem* appearances, I know races will be apart of the game, but I won’t like it.

A Wide Variety of Weapons

Something that I think other games have done a really solid job with is allowing players to have a wide selection of weapons.  Red Dead Redemption 2 needs to give us not only cool guns, but a slew of whips, clubs, swords, axes and more to be able to defeat enemies.  Interaction with the environment around you could be something that allows people to gain access to new weapons.  Broken trees, clubs, crowbars and more could really spice up the weapons and allow for players to be creative killing their foe.
