Victorian Steampunk Turn-based mech combat you say! Why this sounds delightful where are my tea and crumpets when I need them? Don your top hat and bonnet as the Iron age reigns supreme once again in Ironcast. Brought to PC a few months ago the game reveled players with giant mech combat in a new unique style. Now Dreadbit an Indie developer and Ripstone have announced that the battle field is being brought to the PS4 & Xbox one systems.
“Watching gamers playing and reacting to Ironcast at recent events was incredible – we knew that we’d developed a game that players wanted to play. We’ve been completely overwhelmed by the positive feedback we’ve received so far and we’re absolutely thrilled to be bringing the game to PlayStation and Xbox One fans worldwide” – Daniel Leaver, Dreadbit.
Battles are fought by generating resource nodes which in turn drive the Ironcast’s various weapons and systems. Players must choose how to spend these nodes wisely, either offensively in order to cripple and destroy their opponents, or defensively, if they suspect a barrage of incoming weapons fire is due.
Battles are pretty straight forward taking little to no time to get used to as game mechanics are pretty easy for any beginner. Players generate resource nodes which can then be used offensively to crush opponents or defensively to take a more tactical route and defend until opportunity strikes. Nodes are created with a match 3 style, though the mechanics are different from others you may have played. Match style is varied in you don’t just match 3 but can actually chain your resources together. Players will be touted with choosing how to best make use f the resources on the board.
Interested parties will be able to play the game soon via Playstation 4, Xbox One or Playstation 3
