Halo 5 Launch Multiplayer Playlists Announced
Spread the love

With Halo 5 on the near horizon, 343 Industries have revealed the launch day matchmaking playlists for Halo 5. Not that many of these will matter much, because we know very little about the levels, but enough comes through that we get a nice idea of how the game will run.

Warzone – 24 players on massive maps

  • Escape from A.R.C.
  • Raid on Apex 7
  • March on Stormbreak

Breakout – Halo’s premiere single-life elimination mode.  Think of Search and Destroy.

  • Gambol
  • Trident
  • Trench
  • Crossfire
  • Altitude

Free-for-All – Enough said.

  • Eden
  • Regret
  • The Rig
  • Plaza

SWATnums:   SWAT games with Magnum starting weapons, takes you back to the old Combat Evolved days doesn’t it?

  • SWATnums | Eden
  • SWATnums | Regret
  • SWATnums | The Rig
  • SWATnums | Plaza
  • SWATnums | Orion
  • SWATnums | Pegasus

Team Arena – Play on the very best modes and maps Halo 5 has to offer.

Weekend Social is another play list that will feature custom game types from the community, does this mean the return of the classic Shotty, Sniper, Sword(SSS), maybe Tower of Power? We’ll find out soon I guess.

Now the thing I find interesting is that there is not a dedicated Capture the Flag playlist for once, or just an objective based one.  There is the Arena, which is meant to bring Halo back into the competitive light, but after years of catering towards the more casual crowd, I have to wonder if it is too little to late.
