Good call to you fans that commented on my who is dead theory! Now let’s get into the how and the why my recap of this week’s episode of Arrow.

Andy comes clean to John about being approached by Malcom for assistance with Damien who is cooped up in prison and the rest of HIVE is happy he’s out of the way. It seems like a celebration when the crappy manager you work for is booted out of the company. Andy tells John that there will be some missiles coming into Star City, sure why not transport dangerous good through a crime ridden city. John and Oliver suit up while Laurel and Thea hang back at the bunker and run operations. Team Arrow with Andy’s help manage to foil the robbery and it was rather easy, which has Oliver worried.

Back at the bunker Malcolm drops in, but not to try and repair his relationship with Thea he’s come to get the idol that gives Damien his powers. Que the daddy/daughter brawl we’ve all been waiting for. While Laurel deals with some league of assassins, Thea saves herself money in therapy by beating the crap out of Malcom but she hesitates to deliver the killing blow allowing Malcom to knock her out and take the idol. See he is a good father…sort of.

Ruve wins the mayoral election and offers Laurel her dream job DA of Star City and in another surprise Oliver finds out that people wrote in his name on the ballot (wait people still actually do that?)

Malcom gets the idol to Damien but there’s one small problem, the jewel needed for the idol is missing.

Back at the bunker John tells Andy that the jewel was removed and hidden in case the idol was ever stolen from them. Hearing this Oliver gets upset at John because Oliver doesn’t trust Andy. John points out that all this time Oliver has been telling John to give Andy a chance so which is it?

Laurel using her District Attorney power gets Damien’s cell searched, but there is no idol to be found in Damien’s cell leading to a mass search of each cell. The search of course turns up nothing except the usual contraband.

Andy starts searching John’s apartment looking for the jewel in the midst of his search Oliver appears and attacks Andy believing him to be a spy for Damien. John intervenes prompting a rift between the two friends while Laurel cautions Oliver to find hard evidence to convince John that Andy is still working for HIVE.

Back at the prison Damien’s prison buddies cause a riot and take some guards hostage. Team Arrow with Black Canary suiting up for the last time as Laurel has made the decision to take the DA offer goes in to quell the riot and save the guards.

Andy shows his true colors in front of the team giving Damien the jewel then killing some prisoners to power it to save Damien from the two arrows Speedy put into him. Damien channels his Darth Vader and proceeds to force choke the team.  Damien the reveals he knows who everyone is. Damien then catches an arrow fired by Oliver then stabs Laurel in the side with it as revenge for Detective Lance for betraying him.

Laurel is rushed to the hospital and comes out of surgery successful. Everyone breathes a collective sigh of relief. Oliver stays behind to talk to Laurel who tells him she’s changed her mind she wants to keep being the Black Canary. She also tells him that while she may not be the love of his life, he is the love of hers and she hopes that he can find a way back to Felicity. Of course you the fans were right, Laurel suffers a stroke and then dies time of death: 11:59.

So what does this mean for Team Arrow now? Will there be a metahuman that will come around to become the new Black Canary? Or will Team Arrow become a trio?

Until next time folks.
