Another week so more indie games for all you gamers to check out. This week we’re checking out some Indie games that have a retro style theme to them.

Let’s take a look:

Downwell (Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Microsoft Windows, Steam)

Developer: Moppin

Little Timmy jumps down the well except this time he is packing some sweet rocket boots. A retro style game that reminds me of playing on the old Gameboy and like the old games it has the same rage quit inducing levels as the old 8-bit games. No level is ever the same and there’s even an underwater level to add to already challenging game. If you like old school controller smashing, no save game data at all this game will be right up your alley.

Mega Coin Squad (PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam)

Developer: Big Pixel Studios

megacoin

Speaking of retro style games, Mega Coin Squad takes on the feel of Mario with an almost Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Smash Brothers twist. The solo player challenges you to beat sixteen levels with a character of your choice, each character has strength and weaknesses and no two characters are alike. The multiplayer game challenges you against your friends via beat ‘em up to collect coins and survive.

Nidhogg (PC, MAC, PS4, Vita, PSTV, Steam)

Developer: Messhof

Do you bite your thumb at me sir?! Very well then swords at dawn! For those of you that have an Errol Flynn fixation it can be soothed with this sword fighting game. Stab, punch, swing from the chandler, toss your sword and of course coupe de grace your opponent. Each kill allows you to advance to another section of the level until you jump on a giant freaking dragon and ride away to victory and well who doesn’t love the sight of pixelated gushing blood?
