I am really loving all the cross overs that have been happening recently. Arrow and Flash, Flash and Arrow, Arrow and Vixen, Arrow and Constantine (I really hope we seem more of Matt Ryan as the hell blazer). The writers have been on the ball about keeping everything fluid and awesome, each time the heroes have something to teach one another and it makes for a great episode. The title for this episode Worlds Finest was an interesting choice. For those of us that know DC Comic titles World’s Finest was a lovely little series in which Batman and Superman were the besets of buddies, Batman was light-hearted not dragged down by the fact he watched his parents be shot and killed in front of him and oh yeah Robin often tagged along. The idea that either of these two polar opposite heroes was best said by Frank Miller who wrote the epic graphic novel turned two part DVD The Dark Knight Returns ‘Batman and Superman would NOT be friends!’ At best those two have a respect for each other and their ideals but beyond that there’s no bromance between these two heavy hitters despite what fan fictions on the internet would lead you to believe.

We pick up sometime after Supergirl’s exposure to red kryptonite, which lowers inhibitions in Superman and SuperGirl. She’s trying to win back the people even going as far as to assemble a table from Ikea for one family. Meanwhile Kara’s rival for PA to Cat Grant Siobhan’s life is going down in flames. She got canned from her job because she attempted to send Perry White the USB drive given to Cat by Indigo which honestly what was she thinking? Cat worked for Perry White, those two communicate a lot, Cat is a world wide media mogul. Did Siobhan really think she could go behind Cat’s back? Siobhan hun it’s not too late to start your own Youtube channel or even a tumblr account maybe Cat’s reach isn’t that far. Anyways after she super sonic scream save to prevent her from becoming splatter area on the sidewalk below all of us fans waiting for this cross over all screamed the same word ‘metahuman!’

Winn using his connections with the DEO takes Siobhan to get checked out. Sadly there’s noting odd about her DNA she is just a plain old ordinary human who can shatter glass and ear drums with a super sonic scream. Siobhan of course is angry that Winn kept from her the fact he knew SuperGirl and worked with a super secret government task force. Winn informs her if she had gone with him on a normal date instead of quickies in the supply closet she would have learned of it. Now even more angry Siobhan leaves but not before overhearing Livewire say how she wants to fry Cat Grant (though i think it would just be an intense electroshock therapy treatment for Cat)

Still pissed and wanting revenge Siobhan of course does the only logical thing she can. Go back to CatCo, confront Kara, then super sonic scream Kara out a window sending Kara falling to her death, but at the last moment a familiar scarlet streak appears and saves her, only of course to have her shirt catch fire leading to a very awkward moment between two heroes who have never heard of one another and the reason  why is because The Flash is on yet another earth where STAR labs does not exist nor he. Kara and Barry are in awe of one another and quickly become best buds because seriously two chipper heroes who love food? How could they not get along.

Meanwhile Siobhan learns from her witch Aunt that their family is cursed thanks to an Ancestor who stole from a Banshee. When they are wronged they gain the powers of a Banshee and the curse will not be lifted until those that wronged them are dead, or they can keep the powers and lose their soul. At this point Siobhan has a look of ‘fuck yes!’ in her eyes as she frees Livewire and appeals to her vengeful side. Livewire agrees to the partnership but first Siobhan needs a kick ass outfit that and a badass name Silver Banshee.

Worlds Finest

Kara impatient after learning Livewire has escaped gets Barry’s help in tracking Livewire down only to get their butts kicked by Livewire’s new BFF in a Rob Zombie inspired outfit. After retreating Barry talks sense into Kara to come up with a plan to deal with Silver Banshee and to not give up on trying to win the people back. Thanks to dealing with one villain called Piped Piper Barry makes some special hearing protectors to block out Silver Banshee’s scream.

LiveWire and Silver Banshee then attack Catco, Winn tries to appeal to Siobhan’s humanity but Siobhan tells him she’s happy the way she is now before knocking him down then take Cat to the park. LiveWire broadcasts her ransom demand SuperGirl for Cat. While waiting on SuperGirl to show Cat pleads to her former employees to spare her life for the sake of her two sons. This actually gives Siobhan some pause then SuperGirl and the Flash arrive. This whole fight was not Barry’s finest moment as he gets knocked out by LiveWire who then tries to take down a police helicopter. In a true heroic moment Kara blocks the bolt to protect the helicopter and the people but it knocks her out. The people moved by SuperGirl’s willingness to sacrifice herself form a shield around LiveWire who is ready to take out anyone who stands in her way. Before she can however the fire department shows up and hoses LiveWire down causing her to shock Silver Banshee.

In the end National City loves SuperGirl again and thanks to Barry the NCPD have a way to lock up their version of metahumans and now it’s time for Barry to try and get back to his Earth. How does a speedster go out in style? Why by echoing from the comics a foot race.

So if SuperGirl does get a season two can we hope that another cross over with The Flash would be in the works? And I guess someone forgot to set a reminder about Myriad because it just went active.
