With today being the final day of E3 2016, there is a lot to reflect on. E3 2016 was a huge success, and there’s a lot to look forward to in the future. Tons of new games were announced and even hardware as well. But there was also a lot of things that were missing from E3 this year that seemed to be a little bit of a downer. What was not included at E3 thankfully didn’t make the show an eyesore, but here are some items that were missing this year that seem to be E3 disappointments.
Red Dead Redemption 2
With RockStar Games now having Grand Theft Auto V in the rearview mirror, all signs pointed to a sequel to the highly successful Red Dead Redemption. That did not come to be, and it appears that fans will have to wait a little while longer to see what lies next in the wild wild west.
It’s been a long time since we’ve seen Samus Aran in action and it looks like we’ll have to wait awhile longer. There was no announcement of a new Metroid game from Nintendo during this year’s E3, and that will continue the absence. Sure, we have Metroid Prime: Federation Force as a spin off but as far as a game as Samus being the main protagonist, it’s been 6 years and counting.
The Last Of Us 2
Sure, Naughty Dog has been busy with the success of Uncharted 4 but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t still working on something. That turned out to be a remake of Crash Bandicoot which is a thrill to many fans, but some fans were really hoping that we would see a continuation of Joel and Ellie’s world of The Last Of Us.
Kingdom Hearts 3
It seems as if E3 2016 would have been the perfect stage to show off Kingdom Hearts 3 progression, and where they stand as far as a release window but that has gone by the wasteside thus we will have to wait until further notice to get more information from Square Enix regarding Kingdom Hearts 3.
I know Nintendo is busy developing and producing The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wind, but they have already formally announced that the Nintendo NX is a thing and is on the way. Why not show it off for the first time and have Zelda running on the upcoming console right on the E3 show floor? The perfect game to show off the NX’s hardware would undoubtedly be The Legend Of Zelda.
PlayStation Neo (4.5)
Sony was on a roll during their press conference this year and about an hour or so in they announced they would be wrapping things up. They had previously announced that the PlayStation Neo would not be at E3 2016, however like the Nintendo NX, I believe that E3 would have been the perfect stage to show off the new hardware or at least mention how it’s coming along. What are some things you would have liked to have seen at E3 this year? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
