Another year, another Steam Summer Sale here to take a digital vacuum to your bank account. This year, we are treated to a summer picnic theme, offering “refreshing deals” on many of the services titles. Valve seems to be following the same sale model displayed by their winter sale this past year, opting to have all titles available at fixed sale prices versus daily and flash deals.

Though some may miss the excitement of logging in to Steam twice per day to see what the flash sales of the current 12 hour period are, the new approach is much friendlier to those who may not have the time to dedicate to video game bargain hunting. Featured sales on the front page will cycle out once per day, but remain at the advertised prices until the event ends. A notable absence this time around is the usual front page mini-game to distract users with those unreasonably addictive trading cards.

The new approach is a bit more sales-friendly though, offering up to three cards per day for scrolling through your discovery queue. Sales will run from June 23rd through July 4th, so take your time and whittle away at that ever growing wish list! And don’t forget to clear that discovery queue every day for your Steam Summer Sale exclusive trading cards! Check back with us each day of the sale for a short list of standout deals from the featured sales on the front page.

Today’s featured standouts include:

Stardew Valley – $11.99 (orig. $14.99)

This War of Mine – $4.99 (orig. $19.99)

Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen – $20.09 (orig. $29.99)

Darkest Dungeon – $14.99 (orig. $24.99)

Payday 2 – $5.00 (orig. $19.99)

The Banner Saga 2 – $15.99 (orig. $19.99)

There are some notable franchise sales as well, including Call of Duty, Assassins Creed, Sonic, and Lego. If you are looking to play The Banner Saga 2 and haven’t yet experienced the original, you may want to consider it as well at its $4.99 sale price. Your choices in the first game carry over into the second, but if you choose to skip the original and dive right into the sequel, don’t worry! You will be given a pre-built character with a set of choices already made for you, and can continue the story from there. Be sure to check out all of the deals, as we at Mammoth Gamers keep you updated with daily recommendations from the Steam Summer Sale! Happy hunting!
