Ubisoft E3 2016 Recap
Spread the love

This year Ubisoft was the only publisher to have a E3 Press Conference, however it doesn’t look like it changed much of what they announce. There were no new jaw dropping moments, however Ubisoft did have a few new IP’s that weren’t leaked.  Let’s take a look at them all.

Just Dance 2016

No surprise to anyone, Just Dance 2016 was announced for all major platforms, including Nintendo’s “unannounced” NX.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands

The first real surprise came with the announcement of Ghost Recon: Wildlands for PC, PS4, and Xbox One and is the first new Ghost Recon game to be on current gen systems. According to Ubisoft this is the largest open world game they have ever done.

South Park: The Fractured But Hole

With everyone expecting The Division when the trailer started The Fractured But Hole tricked everyone with their reveal, for the better. The Fractured But Hole is the sequel to the very successful South Park: The Stick of Truth which was on last gen systems and PC. Everyone who buys The Fractured But Hole will receive The Stick of Truth for free, and if you preorder you can get your free copy then.

The Division: Underground

The first real expansion to The Division was announced called Underground and will arrive on Xbox 30 days before PS4 and PC.

Also the second expiation was also revealed to be called Survival, which Xbox owner will get first crack at 30 days early.

Next Ubisoft announced and showed off a few new VR games with another look at Eagle Flight, which was announced last year on Sony’s stage.

Eagle Flight

Now being shown off on Oculus Rift the demo showed off the PVP mode.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew

This game puts fans of Star Trek on the Enterprise, something everyone has wanted to do at some point in their lives.

Ubisoft then moved on from VR to talk about For Honor.

For Honor

I got to play this game at The PlayStation Experience this past December and it was some of the most refreshing multiplayer I have ever played, and at E3 Ubisoft showed off what we can expect from the single player campaign.

Grow Up

Grow Up is a sequel to the largely successful platformer Grow Home game that launched last year.

Trials of the Blood Dragon

If you had a chance last gen to get your hands on the stand-alone DLC for Far Cry 3, Blood Dragon, then you know how exciting this news is. Ubisoft has combined the style and crazy 90’s action movie like look and feel of Blood Dragon with Trials. The game is available right now to buy.

Watch Dogs 2

Watch Dogs was announced a few days before E3 because of leaks, however we now got to see the first ever gameplay and it looks amazing. It was also announced the PS4 will be getting all DLC 30 days early, while also helping produce the Watch Dogs movie at Sony Pictures.

Steep was the last game revealed at Ubisoft’s conference and is a new IP and genre. Steep is an extreme winter sports with snowboarding, skiing, hang gliding, & wing suits.

Ubisoft all in all had a very solid E3, with no huge surprise outside of The Fractured But Hole but also no huge missteps. For more on Ubisoft and all of E3 stick close to Mammoth Gamers!
