The month hit us a day too late for the store update, but the February Playstation Plus free games have officially been announced on the PlayStation Blog. This month sees five games playable on PS4, two on Vita, and two on PS3. The games are as follows:
- Little Big Planet 3 (PS4)
- Not a Hero (PS4)
- Ninja Senki DX (PS Vita/PS4)
- TorqueL (PS Vita/PS4)
- Starwhal (PS3/PS4)
- Anna: Extended Edition (PS3)
Little Big Planet 3 released in November 2014 to mostly positive reviews. The game is a lighthearted platformer featuring Sackboy, one of PlayStation’s flagship original characters from the PS3 era. It is the fifth game in the series, following Little Big Planet 1 and 2 on PS3, and two portable entries on PSP and PS Vita. Not a Hero is a personal favorite on this list. If you enjoy side scrolling, stylish, colorful action games with a sense of humor, this game is an excellent choice. If goofy, multiplayer fun is your thing, Starwhal has you covered. It’s horn jousting with 80’s neon space narwhals. No further explanation necessary.
Ninja Senki and TorqueL are both new to PlayStation platforms, but have been available on PC previously. Ninja Senki draws inspiration from classic NES platformers, while torque is a 2D puzzler. Anna: Extended Edition is a reworked version of the original Horror adventure, featuring enhancements to many of its features and systems. February PlayStation Plus offers some pretty solid additions to the roster this month, whether you want platforming, action, puzzles, or competitive multiplayer. Be sure to check the store when it updates on Tuesday, February 7 to claim the new games, and don’t forget to claim January’s freebies before then, as they will be no longer available.
