Recently, Nintendo has released both a new Classic Mini NES and a new Classic Mini SNES. Both nostalgic systems have sold very well. Therefore, it’s no surprise that Nintendo may have a new Game Boy Classic on the way.
Ninten-Swtich.com recently discovered that a trademark for the Game Boy was filed in Japan. It has also been tweeted by the Japanese trademark bot.

The trademark included an image of the Game Boy Classic.
The patent information includes “home video game console”, “programs for smartphones,” “smartphone cases,” “smartphone covers,” “key holders,” “necklaces,” and “watches.” This is to protect Game Boy Classic brand.
The last Game Boy was released back into 2005, it was the Game Boy Micro.
This is incredibly exciting for all Nintendo fans and for those who spent their childhood playing the likes of the Game Boy and Game Boy Colour. Better yet, there have been some rumours that a new Nintendo 64 may also be in the works.
