New year, new updates, and Microsoft is starting the new year by rolling out the next Xbox One update to alpha testers. Detailed on the Xbox Blog, the update will have smaller features to make Xbox One owner’s experience just a little easier.
With this update, players will be able to use “Next Achievements” feature in the guide, which enables you to view and sort a cross-games list of upcoming achievements. Easily see which achievements you are closest to, and quickly launch the game to obtain them. This update will also allow players to filter with to prioritize next by closest, rarest, and highest Gamerscore.
A feature called Mini Game Hubs will also be available in the guide. With this feature, you’ll be able to access content for the games you’ve played recently from a Game Hub without ever having to leave the current game you’re playing. Mini Game Hubs provide an easy way to see friends who are currently playing, upcoming achievements, and more.
A “Do Not Disturb” online status has been added, which will suppress notifications and let players avoid distractions and focus entirely on their game. This feature will be espically helpful to streamers to avoid notifications displaying on their display as they showcase.
The update also tweaked the community feed to make it easier to view comments. Comments have been arranged to place more recent ones on top, while also showing who liked your comments.
Inactivity shutdown options have also been added. In addition to shutting down the console after one or six hours of inactivity, players will be able to select options for two, three, four, and five hours.
These features are only enabled for a portion of Xbox One users to gauge interest and collect feedback.
