PlayStation Plus subscribers are in for a treat this March. Starting next week, two big PlayStation 4 exclusives, FromSoftware’s Bloodborne and Insomniac Games’ Ratchet & Clank, will be headlining March’s free games lineup.
March’s PlayStation Plus lineup will also include:
Legend of Kay (PS3)
Might No. 9 (PS3, Cross Buy with PS4)
Claire: Extended Cut (PS Vita, Cross Buy with PS4)
Bombing Busters (PS Vita, Cross Buy with PS4)
Fans of Dungeon Defenders II will also be able to receive some exclusive PlayStation Plus content. Starting March 13th to April 10th, members can download the Dungeon Defenders PS Plus Pack free which contains 4 Shadow Costumes, 1 Million in gold, 5 Campaign Shard Packs, 5 Defender packs, and a Ninja Gato Pet.
While all of this is good news for PS Plus subscribers, Sony dropped some additional bad news about the service.
Sony has announced PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita will no longer be part of its monthly roster of free PlayStation Plus titles. Starting next year on March 8th, 2019, the PS Plus monthly games lineup will focus on only PS4 titles. But don’t fret. Any PS3 and Vita freebies previously downloaded from PS Plus can be re-downloaded any time after the update. Sony simply will no longer include new games from those platforms in future lineups.
Sony says this update stems from “the increasingly vast number of PS4s in homes around the world.” Sony has also confirmed with Polygon that PS3 and Vita games will not be replaced by more PS4 titles. PS Plus will instead only release the usual two free PS4 games.
