Nintendo’s Mario Tennis Aces, a game coming to the Nintendo Switch June 22nd, is allowing players a free demo starting on May 24th. Fans will be able to practice to their heart’s content in preparation for the multiplayer tournament announced earlier this week. The Mario Tennis Aces three-day long tournament will start June 1st, and end on the 3rd.
Gamers will be able to download their demo of the Mario Tennis Aces from the free software area of the Nintendo Switch, where they will be able to play as Mario, Yoshi, Peach, or Bowser. The demo will be available to be played offline, with CPU enemies allowing for single-player fun.
The tournament will begin at 6:00 PM PDT on June 1st, and will end 11:59 PM PDT on June 3rd. Those who compete in (and win) enough multiplayer matches in the tournament will be able to unlock up to five characters when the game is officially released.
Along with the free demo and multiplayer tournament, Nintendo recently released a short trailer depicting the Adventure Mode available in the full game. During Adventure Mode, Mario must rescue his brother, Luigi, from an evil, tennis-themed antagonist who has kidnapped the poor mustachioed man. Tough luck Luigi, at least Peach gets a break this game.
Those who download the demo for Mario Tennis Aces will unlock the classic Mario outfit for him to wear in the full release. Good luck to all potential competitors!
