You asked for it, and you’re getting it! Pokemon Go trading is officially here. With the latest update, you can now trade your Pokemon with your friends.
The only catch with this new feature is that you must be at least a level 30 in order to trade with another Pokemon trainer at the moment, although it is expected that players at other levels will be able to trade as well in the coming days as the new feature is rolled out. Niantic also announced a friends system will be coming alongside the trading feature. Players will simply have to exchange their trainer code (similar to a friends code) to share with their friends and add them to your list. Once that player has accepted your request, they will appear on your list and you will get an opportunity to interact with them accordingly. The friendship level can build over time based on how often you and your friend trade with each other. The ranges of friendship include Good Friend, Great Friend, Ultra Friend, and Best Friend.
Now as far as trading, that will only be available for players who are on your friends list and in addition, you must be within 100 meters of each other. Once a trade is completed it earns a bonus candy for the Pokemon traded away and the bonus can even increase if the Pokemon you traded were discovered/caught in areas that weren’t close together.
