After months of waiting, Bandai Namco has decided we deserve information about the future of Ni no Kuni 2. The game will receive three DLC packs, one of which is actually a free update. The other two are part of a season pass that you can already pre-purchase. The free DLC update is called the “Adventure Pack” and will launch on August 9th.
The Adventure Pack will add more floors to the Faraway Forest Cave and two new bosses. You’ll also be able to get new equipment including costumes for the playable characters. However there is no information regarding where you can find the new enemies. Presumably they will be in the Faraway Forest Cave as there no new areas in this DLC pack.
The paid DLC packs part of the season pass will have more to offer. The first pack will introduce a brand new dungeon with tougher enemies and launches in winter of this year. The second part has new story elements and is slated for a 2019 release. The actual details about these new additions are still bare but this is better than nothing.

Ni no Kuni 2 has a lot of content in the base game that can easily last 70-80 hours. These DLC packs are the icing on the cake. Especially the free one as it was an unexpected, but welcome update. That’s the beauty of modern gaming. When you think you’re about to put down a game, it suddenly adds a bunch of new stuff for you to try. Lovely.
