Possible Early 2019 Release for AirPods 2 and AirPower

Possible Early 2019 Release for AirPods 2 and AirPower

According to a report by AppleInsider, Apple is set to launch the next generation of AirPods, the AirPods 2, potentially in the next few months. This comes from Ming Chi-Kuo, an analyst at TF International Securities. In 2016, Apple removed the headphone jack and launched the AirPods. These Bluetooth enabled earphones where design to allow user freedom and connectivity with all apple devices. They even have the ability to call up Siri by simply tapping the headphones.

Until an official announcement from Apple, we can only speculate.  If the reports do hold true, the AirPods 2 will come with some new features and improvements over the first-generation. Some of the new features, posted by Bloomberg, include being water-resistant, Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, and improved audio quality and bass. Also, instead of tapping the AirPods, Siri would be voice activated.

One of the earliest drawbacks to the AirPods was the possibility that they can fall out of a user’s ears. At $159 a user would want them to stay in place, especially if wearing while active. An improvement for the AirPods 2 would be a new coating to prevent slippage.

The next generation of AirPods may have more than just audio, “Hey Siri,” and talk capability. According to TechRadar they may also include biometric sensors that measure heart rate.

The cost of the new AirPods are predicted to be around the same cost as the current version, selling at $159. They may also come in black.

Now, this report did not just drop possible news about AirPods.  We may also see the release of the long-awaited AirPower, a wireless charging station for iPhone 8 and above, Apple Watch, and the AirPods charging case. The AirPower was announced alongside the iPhone 8 and X, but multiple delays has caused Apple fans to wait.

An AppleInsider report also mentions the release of a new 31.6-inch 6K3K display for Mac Pro. According to AppleInsider, “a 6K3K display refers to a standard 6K resolution of 6,144 x 3,072 which at a 31.6-inch diagonal size will yield a pixel density of roughly 217 PPI. The 15-inch MacBook Pro has 221 PPI, with the iMac 5K coming in at 218.”

Apple isn’t the only one set to launch new headphones. Louis Vuitton is also getting into the headphone game with their own set of AirPod like buds. We look forward to hearing from Apple more on these products and release dates.  Stay tuned to Mammoth Gamers for the latest developments.
