Fans have been clamoring for the next set of AirPods for quite some time, and today, that day has finally come. This morning, Apple officially announced that the next generation of AirPods are here and available now. And they have a nice set of new features as well including wireless charging. Let’s take a look.
The latest version of the AirPods will introduce a wireless charging case with Apple’s new H1 chip. The power of this chip will give end users 50% more talk time as well as hands free “Hey Siri” functionality as well. Visually, you can see the charging indicator will be on the outside of the case – a nice change up for those who don’t want to open up their wireless headphones to see if the AirPods 2 charging is green, orange, or red.
Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior VP of Worldwide Marketing had this to say about Apple’s latest AirPods:
AirPods delivered a magical wireless experience and have become one of the most beloved products we’ve ever made. They connect easily with all of your devices, and provide crystal clear sound and intuitive, innovative control of your music and audio. The world’s best wireless headphones just got even better with the new AirPods. They are powered by the new Apple-designed H1 chip which brings an extra hour of talk time, faster connections, hands-free ‘Hey Siri’ and the convenience of a new wireless battery case.
