A Marvel Iron Man VR game was officially revealed yesterday during the PlayStation State Of Play presentation across the interwebs. While this is an exciting time for Marvel and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in general with the upcoming release of Marvel’s Avengers Endgame, some may have overlooked that about a year ago, David Jaffe’s team at Bartlet Jones was actually prototyping a Marvel Iron Man VR game for publication on the PlayStation VR.
In the Tweet (above) David describes how his team at Bartlet Jones (now defunct) were actually pursuing an Iron Man game for the PlayStation VR, and they were in fact going to pitch the game to Marvel Games in hopes that they would pick it up for publishing.
He goes on to say that the game included conversation with J.A.R.V.I.S. (Tony Stark’s suit A.I. which is now evolved into Vision in the MCU) by using the PSVR microphone. While J.A.R.V.I.S. will not be included in the Marvel Iron Man VR game, we will in fact have F.R.I.D.A.Y. in the upcoming game. The tweet included art concepts of the game as well.
It’s sad that we didn’t get a chance to see David Jaffe’s concept of his Iron Man game that he intended to pitch to Marvel Games, but it is nice to see a Marvel Iron Man VR game come to fruition anyway. Replying to us on Twitter, David seems excited about the upcoming game on PSVR.
Here’s hoping this game will be just as cool as David’s original vision that his team at Bartlet Jones was prototyping one year ago.
Marvel’s Iron Man VR is set for release later this year on exclusively (for now) on the PlayStation VR. For more on Marvel’s Iron Man VR and all other things Marvel related, make sure you keep it locked right here to Mammoth Gamers!
