For many fans, today’s announcement from Disney was a dream come true. The long awaited Star Wars Land, also known as Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge will be opening a lot sooner than expected.
Fans on the west coast at Disneyland in Anaheim, California can expect the park to open on May 31st right in the middle of the summer rush. For fans that want that Florida sunshine, they can expect the park to officially open in Disney’s Hollywood Studios on August 29th, right as summer comes to a close.
Both parks are undoubtedly expected to have very large crowds as the anticipation for both parks has already reached an unprecedented level. Capacity levels are expected to peak on opening day and the weeks following the opening of the parks. A Star Wars Land has been something that fans have wanted for quite sometime now, and guests planning to visit in California will be required to make a reservation which is subject to availability, to access the land. One will not be required at Walt Disney World in Florida at this time, but availability is still limited based on capacity of course.
