E3’s PC Gaming Show had one announcement after another, and PC fans are sure to rejoice over the exciting things announced earlier today. Some interesting indies, like a colony simulator about a dwarf civilization in space and a new project from the team behind Her Story, were announced along with a new mode in Warhammer Vermintide 2. Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey received a release date of August 27, and the team behind Sniper Elite 4 revealed their new zombie project Zombie Army: Dead War 4. The E3 hype continues to grow, so check out some of PC Gaming Show’s most exciting announcements below!
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
After 15 years in the making, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is finally happening! And it might be here sooner than you think. While it will feel ultimately familiar, some new features were revealed during the presentation. Senior Writer Cara Ellison said, “Vampires can see the emotional resonance of beings, like fear or desire, and they can feed on those people to feel the same thing.” Fans can expect to see the sequel early next year.
Missing the bloody battles of Game of Thrones? Well, the sequel to Chivalry, a knightly multiplayer hack-and-slash, has you covered. The original developer, Torn Banner Studios, is working together with Tripwire to complete the project before release in 2020. On stage there was some talk of beating people with chickens while quoting Shakespeare? So, it is sure to be a good time.
Midnight Ghost Hunt
The popular mod, Prop Hunt, has inspired this ghostly adventure. Similarly to the mod, players will be split into ghosts, those hiding, and a team of ghost hunters. The ghost not only have the ability to hide within objects, but they can also launch attacks at the ghost hunters themselves. Excited? Look out for the alpha test coming this summer!
Age of Wonders: Planetfall
Have you ever wanted to run an empire made up of cyborg zombies or dinosaurs with lasers? In Age of Wonders: Planetfall, a 4X turn-based strategy game, you can! Create your own faction and slowly take over the galaxy however you see fit. Age of Wonders: Planetfall is set to release this summer on August 6th.
Remnant: From the Ashes
Fans of the Souls franchise and Bloodborne will love Remnant: From the Ashes with its punishing gameplay and large-scale boss battles. This co-op shooter takes place in an apocalyptic world that stretches across various fantastical worlds, and due to its dynamic regeneration, you and your friends will never play or loot the same game twice. Monster hunters can prepare for the hunt on August 20, 2019 on PC and console.
If you’re looking for a modern take on Zoo Tycoon, Planet Zoo is right up your alley. The creators stressed the importance of running a modern zoo while on stage, and they discussed how that means the game will have a focus on education and conservation along with caring for different animals. You can look for it on PC this Fall on November 5.
The creator of the Shenmue series graced the stage to introduce a trailer for Shenmue III. While he had little to say other than thanking the long-time fans of the series, the trailer revealed a release date for November 19, 2019 on PC and console.
The creative director behind Borderlands 3, Paul Sage, answered a few questions on the newest iteration of the series. He went into detail about one of the new characters, Moze the Gunner and her mech, Iron Bear, and shared some exciting information about new grenades, weapons, and fighting styles. Multiplayer and transfer between characters will be familiar from the previous games, but there may or may not be some new exciting PvP options.
Baldur’s Gate 3
Baldur’s Gate 3 received some attention toward the end, but the creators didn’t have much to share in terms of a release window. However, it does sound like they are working hard to ensure that players will have the ability to do just about whatever they want. As if this wasn’t enough, the creators also announced a prequel to Baldur’s Gate coming in the form of a tabletop game, set to release this fall.
The PC Gaming Show is only the beginning of the E3 conferences today.
