With the recent release date announcement of Injustice 2 on May 16th, 2017, speculation now moves to the roster of the new game. While the original game had a super hero/villain packed roster, it missed some of the most iconic characters in the game. There are plenty of characters left for Injustice to choose from, trust me.
Notable Mention: The Lantern Corps
Now there is a group of heroes in general in which more could have been done with. We had a few in the first game, but if they truly want to pull the best characters out of DC, they need a few different Lanterns in the game. There is such history in the comics of them, it is a shame they do not get more attention.
While similar to Superman, Supergirl would be a solid addition to the game itself. Most people know the story of Supergirl, she’s smaller, and just as strong as Superman, which would give her a unique style to the game itself.
4) Booster Gold
Boosters first appearance shows him as egotistical, glory seeking showboat from the future, who uses his knowledge of events to come to gain him more fame. However, he eventually becomes a true hero and joins the Justice League. While he has no powers himself, he obtained some technology prior to traveling back in time, which gives him a large advantage over his enemies.
While Darkseid was technically in the first Injustice, he is exclusive to the mobile version of the game, therefore he makes the list. Prince Uxas (Darkseid) is one of DC’s largest villains, appearing in many forms across many of their biggest characters. Darkseid is one of the overriding dark forces in the comics, and it is only right that he has a chance to prove his might to the world. A DC fighting game without Darkseid is like eating Jelly without Peanut Butter on a sandwich, or Mac without the Cheese, it isn’t right.
2) Mr Freeze
Dr. Victor Fries, or Mr. Freeze first came into the comic book world in 1959 and has been one of Batman’s biggest villains to date. Forced to wear a cryogenic suit in order to survive, he uses this suit in combination with his freeze gun, to put his enemies on ice (yes, I went there). Portrayed by the Governator himself Arnold Schwarzenegger, the doctor has earned a chance to do battle once more.
1) James Gordon
Gordon is one of the most iconic characters in the Batman series, and the focus of one of the critically acclaimed TV shows, Gotham. He is a police commissioner of Gotham City, and is one of Batman’s strongest allies. It is only right that he gets to take his place alongside The Bat and beat the snot out of some of his biggest villains.
