PlayStation Plus July 2017 Games List Features Until Dawn

The wait is over! Sony has announced the July 2017 PlayStation Plus game lineup, and this one has enough thrills and chills to offset the summer heat.

Fans of horror (as well as existential questions about the nature of destiny) will be delighted to learn that Until Dawn will be free for PlayStation 4 this month. The game follows eight friends who have gathered in remembrance of two lost loved ones, only to discover that terrifying tropes about isolated cabins in the mountains are sometimes true. The gang soon realizes they are not alone, and it is up to you to make the right choices in order to keep everyone alive until the morning comes. The butterfly effect feature allows you to see the branching paths each choice you make creates, hopefully allowing you to lead the young teens to ultimate safety.

Perhaps winter isn’t coming any time soon (yes, we went there), but Telltale’s adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s Game of Thrones series is here to chill your bones with a tale of intrigue, deception, and (most probably) cold-blooded murder. It is up to you to help the family of House Forrester survive the War of Five Kings. Your choices will either lead the clan to victory, or send them on the path to certain doom. Plus members will get all six episodes for free until the end of the month.

On July 18, Playstation Plus members will also be getting access to the closed beta for Orcs Must Die Unchained. A $20 Plus Pack will also be available to members until August 15.

The full PlayStation Plus July 2017 Lineup is as follows

  • Until Dawn, PS4 (Free)
  • Game of Thrones, PS4 (Free)
  • Tokyo Jungle, PS3
  • Darkstalkers Resurrection, PS3
  • Element4l, PS Vita
  • Don’t Die, Mr. Robot, PS Vita (Cross Buy on PS4)

Also, as a way of celebrating Sony’s newest effort to bring friends and family together, PlayStation Plus members can download That’s You from July 4 through October 24. The game works with PlayLink which allows for the use of smartphones and tablets to connect players together using the TV and PS4 system. Sony provides the following description of the game:

That’s You sets you off on a journey of discovery with up to five of your friends and family, where you can find out what you really think about each other.

In order to join in on the fun, download the PlayLink companion app onto your Android or iOS tablet and/or smartphone, snap a picture of yourself and “enjoy tons of funny questions, texting games, and drawing challenges.”
