Corey Gaspur, a veteran designer for Bioware who rose to prominence with the Mass Effect series and the newly announced Anthem, has unfortunately passed away.
Bioware has released an official statement on their website regarding Gaspers passing:
“It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our friend and colleague Corey Gasper.
He was a member of our team for over nine years, and worked as a designer on many of out titles, including Sonic Chronicles, Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect 2 and 3, and most recently Anthem.
Corey was a talented designer and an even better person. We offer our condolences to Corey’s family and everyone that knew him. We will miss you.”
Gaspur joined Bioware to create a Nintendo DS title called Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. This is a tragic loss for the video game community, a man who helped bring to life some of the most enjoyable games of recent years. Our hearts go out to his friends and family. You’ll be missed Corey, thank you for the fun times over the years.
