BREAKING NEWS – Star Wars Battlefront II Microtransactions To Be Removed

[UPDATE 8:51 PM EST]: EA has released a press release regarding the Star Wars Battlefront II microtransactions debacle. You can view that document here. The tl;dr version: the microtransactions are being removed for now but will be back at a later date to be determined by Electronic Arts.

[Original Story]:  After a PR nightmare backlash throughout this week, MP1st is reporting via multiple sources that the Star Wars Battlefront II Microtransactions/Loot Crate Boxes will be unlocked through progression throughout the game.

This comes after multiple backlash incidents this week including a Reddit post that became the most down voted post in the history of the site. There is no doubt that players and Star Wars fans across the Internet were very unhappy with the way that EA was handling their microtransactions.

Then later on in the week, after the PR nightmare on Reddit, EA announced that they would slash the transaction prices by 75%. But this still made multiple fans unhappy despite the significant drop.
