Bandai Namco has announced another fighter joining the Soul Calibur VI roster – Siegfried, who wields his massive zweihander Requiem in his gameplay trailer.
Much like the rest of the Soul Calibur VI cast, Siegfried is sporting a much younger look. His younger appearance reflects his original Soul Calibur look, with an added scarf. In Soul Calibur VI, Siegfried had just separated from the Nightmare form after losing to Kilik. Now he looks for redemption to free himself from the cursed sword’s grasp.
This announcement also reveals that Siegfried will be his own character instead of sharing a character slot with Nightmare much like Soul Calibur II.
Siegfried’s gameplay trailer gives us a good glimpse of what Siegfried will be bringing to the stage of history. Many of his classic moves are still here from what was shown off in the trailer. While you don’t get to see the game’s destructible armor in the trailer below, you can witness Siegfried’s super in action.
Making his first appearance in Soul Edge, Siegfried is the most central character of the Soul series, acting as the main protagonist in most of its installments. With this recent announcement, Siegfried continues to be one of the few characters to make an appearance in every game in the series since Soul Edge.
Soul Calibur VI is marching closer towards a release this year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
