After Cooler’s announcement during Evo 2018, many fans have predicted that Android 17 will be next to join Dragon Ball FighterZ. Today, everyone’s predictions have been confirmed.
Japanese magazine V-Jump has confirmed that Android 17 is set to release in the next Dragon Ball FighterZ DLC, joining Cooler later this month. Though he has been in the game previously as a support character for his twin sister, Android 18, the playable Android 17 will more closely resemble his character in Dragon Ball Super.
Android 17 uses the Barrier Explosion move, which generates a barrier followed by a dash attack; End Game, which is a combo attack from behind an opponent, and then the Super Electric Strike, which is a charged energy attack.
He’ll be the 27th fighter, main roster and DLC, since the game was launched in January. The DLC will be released alongside Cooler on September 27th for $4.99 each (or as part of the FighterZ season pass).
The new fighters will arrive with a new stage, Space Arena, the arena where Frieza originally trained, plus a general update to the game.
On the topic of the upcoming Dragon Ball FighterZ update, some have noticed from the V-Jump scans that Dragon Ball FighterZ will be getting Halloween themed content, in the form of colors, stamps, and even Halloween themed lobby characters. Hopefully this will lead to even more unique events for the ever growing Dragon Ball FighterZ.

With Tokyo Game Show going on this week, it’s likely there will be more information revolving around this character, and possibly his own trailer. Dragon Ball FighterZ is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Nintendo Switch users can join in on the fun when Dragon Ball FighterZ launches September 28th.
